Trevor Verily

Trevor Verily is a man of theater; he absolutely loves acting and plays. Trevor can be quite dramatic as one can expect and dedicates his time to acting and putting on dramatic performances for his audience. He not only acts, but he also writes, directs, and produces plays. Trevor comes to the Town Hotel hoping to open his own playhouse, has his own island, Trevor Island, complete with 3 stages for his plays, and owns the Stratford Theater in Speedville. He also hosts the Drama 101 and Spotlight Please! minigames, and is a dinner guest turned potential recruit for the Sim Protection Agency.

Last Thurs-day eve, whilst Trevor was performing in his tightest of tights, a shadowy man did sneak backstage and did so swipeth young Trevor’s wallet and car keys. A thousand daggers upon the scoundrel! Now he must replaceth his driver’s license at Ye Olde DMV, which will taketh up his entire Satur-day and make Trevor late for his job at the Renaissance Fair’s Ticket Boothe. Oh, brutish fate!! Is there no end to Trevor’s sorrows?

Appearance

Trevor has long curly blond hair, wide eyes with brown irises, thick black eyebrows, circular blush, and a big smile with a Clark Gable-styled black mustache. He wears red a striped Elizabethan-style shirt and shorts, a white collar and long sleeves, dark purple stockings, black dress shoes, and a black cap with a red feather. In MySims Kingdom and MySims Agents, he has tan skin, but in all other games, he has pale skin.

• Trevor appears in MySims Puzzle Party.
• Trevor appears in The Sims 4 as a MySims trophy that can be collected by players. His description reads: "One time he got stuck in an astronaut costume".
  • This is a reference to MySims Kingdom, where he changes into an astronaut suit instead of his normal clothes after his play is done.
  • Trevor's trophy appears again in The Sims Mobile as an heirloom charm.

Development

• Trevor's primary interest was originally Spooky during the development of MySims.^{[citation needed]}
• Trevor seems to be based off of William Shakespeare, and commonly quotes him.
• If the player sends Trevor on Walker's fifth dispatch mission, One More Time, his biggest fear is revealed to be unweeded gardens.
  • However, his worst fear in MySims Party (DS) is the dentist.
• It was interesting that Trevor was mentioned by Ashley in MySims Agents (DS) and she said that she has a crush on him.
  • This is probably the reason why the Ashley figurine made its appearance on Trevor Island in MySims Kingdom (Console/PC/Apple Arcade).

References

• Trevor tends to speak to a skull, similar to how Hamlet speaks to Yorick's skull in Shakespeare's Hamlet.
• Trevor will occasionally say a Simlish sounding version of the famous line "To Be or Not To Be" from Hamlet.
• In MySims Agents, Trevor suggests putting on a play based on the breaking of the Fortunite Crystal, similar to a plan used in Hamlet by the main character.
• If the player sends Trevor on Makoto's second dispatch mission, Prom Date, he mentions he has a good prom outfit that got ruined during a scene in "Edwin and the Mayonnaise Factory", a reference to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on Edwin and his love for mayonnaise..
• One of the soundtracks for Trevor's Theatre contains Seikilos epitaph, one of the oldest Ancient Greek musical compositions on record.

• Trevor is one of 4 Sims in MySims Kingdom to change their appearance during the storyline, along with Rusty, Vic Vector, and Grandma Ruthie.
  • Trevor is the only one to wear multiple different outfits.
  • Interestingly, all 4 of them are seen in their original appearance again during the end credits.
