Star Level (MySims Racing)

The Star Level is an important aspect of MySims Racing. At the start of the game, Speedville is at Star Level 0, but it can get to Star Level 1 by the player completing their training. After that, the player must complete championships to increase the Star Level. As the Star Level increases, more people of all different kinds move to Speedville.

Star Level 0

Ol Gabby lives at the training school teaching the art of racing. His robot friends, Makoto and T.O.B.O.R, work at the garage fixing, designing, making and upgrading cars. Dr.F works at his lab making new power-ups, working on his Fenergy power source and other crazy experiments. Mayor Rosalyn works at the town hall trying to bring Speedville back to its former glory.

Somewhere, in the valley between Snowy Mountain, Danger Canyon, and Greenwood Forest, was a quaint little town called Speedville.

Though they came from all walks of life, the Sims of Speedville, led by billionaire Sir Charles, shared the common passion of motor racing.

But one day Sir Charles disappeared, and one by one the racers left town, heading out to greener pasturess and bigger circuits.

No longer was the roar of engines heard around town, and the old race tracks, now deserted, soon fell into disrepair.

The dream, however, never left the folks of Speedville. Even today, the hope of a new star racer coming to their town lives on in their hearts...

Star Level 1

After the player become a full-fledged racer, people start coming to town. Chef Gino opens his pizza shop to give Speedville some taste. Samurai Bob comes to refuel all racing cars with his business, Samurai Gas. Ginny returns as a fire chief ready to put out anyone's chances of beating her. Chaz McFreely wants to race the EXTREME star racer and show him how to race TO THE MAX! The Mysterious Stranger lurks in the shadows of Speedville at this Star Level. The Town Cup will ensure Speedville's growth.

Cutscene

But as [player name] returned to the Driving School...

Ol' Gabby: "I'll never sell to you, Morcubus! Never! Now git!"

Morcubus: "Come, Gabriel, be reasonable."

Ol' Gabby: "I said git, or so help me..."

Morcubus: "Alright, alright, I'll go. But I'll be back, Gabriel. You haven't seen the last of the infernal Morcubus!!!"

Ol' Gabby: "Why you -- (coughs)

Ol' Gabby: "Sorry you had to see that, kid. That was Morcubus, head of MorcuCorp."

Player: "What did he want?"

Ol' Gabby: "To turn Sir Charles' old racing tracks into a landfill. Don't know how much longer I can hold the varmint off..."

Player: "Who's Sir Charles?"

Ol' Gabby: "Sir Charles, or 'Ace' as I liked to call 'im, made a fortune selling tires. His real passion, though, was racing."

Ol' Gabby: "He was dang-right obsessed with it. He won every race he entered. We were a team back then. Those were the days..."

Ol' Gabby: "Ol' Ace would win the races, and I'd keep the cars in tip top shape. Times were good."

Ol' Gabby: "That's when Ace started planning Speedvile. He wanted to make the world's racing capital right where we're standin'!"

Ol' Gabby: "Trouble is, Morcubus had his eye on the same piece o' land, and he knew Ace never backed down from a challenge. No matter how risky!"

Ol Gabby: "That dirty varmint tricked Ace into making a little wager. Whoever won the Ultimate Cup would get the deed to the whole durn-blinkin' town."

Ol Gabby: "Now before a big race, Ace always took a balloon ride. You know, clear his head a bit. Only this time -- he never came back."

Player: "What about the cup?"

Ol Gabby: "Canceled. Now, Morcubus claims the bet is off. Thinks the town belongs to him."

Ol Gabby: "But hey, don't let Ol' Gabby git you down! You passed your test, you should celebrate."

Star Level 2

At this Star Level, Greenwood Forest is unlocked. Poppy comes to town and brings along her flower shop. Trevor Verily comes to Speedville to entertain its racers with his unique plays. Goth Boy opens a tattoo parlor in the darkness of the forest. Master Aran opens his Sim Fu school in the calm of the Greenwood Forest, but it won't be calm when lessons start. Sachiko Watanabe and her uncle, Chef Hisao Watanabe start fishing sushi in the forest's lake and make it in their sushi shop. Madame Zoe seeks the future and finds the rest of it in the Greenwood Forest. DJ Candy Supergroove starts parting on the race track as she speeds through Speedville reading to race the player. King Roland comes to the forest to have a royal race against the player. Mayor Rosalyn starts the Greenwood Cup to increase the Star Level.

Finally, racing had come back to Speedville. The townsfolk were more than happy to welcome the few curious tourists who were drawn to the action.

The Town Cup celebrations, which had started right after the race, lasted all the way into the night.

And yet, not everyone seemed to join in the festivities...

Ol' Gabby: "How 'bout that? One little championship and people are back to their ol' selves."

Mysterious Stranger: "The girl/boy -- how good is she/he, really?"

Ol' Gabby: "[player name]? She's/he's got spunk, that's fer sure. Real talent, too."

Mysterious Stranger: "Enough to win the Ultimate Cup?"

Ol Gabby: "Maybe, maybe not. Still hard to tell."

Mysterious Stranger: "We must find out. That girl/boy is Speedville's final hope."

Ol' Gabby: "Ya ain't gotta tell Ol' Gabby twice! I'll keep an eye on her/him."

Star Level 3

This Star Level unlocks the Snowy Mountain. Professor Nova opens her observatory in the Snowy Mountains to see UFOs if any pass by. Travis now has a job as the lead photographer of a newspaper and wants some shots of the player around Snowy Mountain. Dolly Dearheart starts a branch of DressCo in the Snowy Mountains. But MorcuCorp comes to town hoping to make a laughing stock out of the player. First, they send unwilling Violet Nightshade to beat the player, but she only does this to protect her sister, Poppy. Then, ninja Star deceives the player until it's time to race, revealing she wants them out of the way so her boss can take over Speedville. The Snowy Cup begins once the player are ready to begin the race.

Meanwhile, back at MorcuCorp...

Morcubus: "My friends, the situation is dire..."

Morcubus: "As you may have heard, that pesky Mayor Rosalyn has once again started to organize racing championships."

Morcubus: "She clearly believes this new racer of hers -- what's her/his name?"

Brandi: "[player name]."

Morcubus: "Right. She believes this [player name], trained by our old friend Gabriel, is some sort of racing prodigy who will save the town from my wrath."

Mel: "What should we do, my lord?"

Morcubus "I want you all to go to Speedville, and humiliate their champion on the track!"

Star: "Hmm -- could be tricky."

Morcubus: "The Terrible Morcubus has taken care of everything! We have someone on the inside who will assist you."

Morcubus: "Soon, the people of Speedville will see that their town belongs to me!"

Morcubus: "ME!!!! Mwahahahahahah!"

Brandi: "Whoa. Drama queen."

Star Level 4

Stunt Land Theme Park is accessible, and the Mysterious Stranger reveals himself to be Sir Charles, better known as Ace. Ace wants the player to save the town from MorcuCorp. Shirley comes to take care of helmet hair and makes the Sims of Speedville better racers. Roxie Road starts selling ice cream and cleaning up Stunt Land Theme Park. Vic Vector comes to bring racing to the next level. Mel the Mummy comes from the dead and into the forest to defeat the cursed star racer for Morcubus. Brandi starts causing mischief in Stunt Land for the glory of MorcuCorp. Finally, Morcubus, the corrupted CEO of MorcuCorp, stands up to the player himself in Stunt Land Theme Park. The final championship, the Ultimate Cup, takes place and the player must win for the sake of Speedville.

Cutscene

Mayor Rosalyn: "Please, [player name], have a seat."

Player: "What's going on, Mayor Rosalyn?"

Mayor Rosalyn: "As you may have heard, we've already started preparing for the next championship, the Ultimate Cup."

Mayor Rosalyn: "I have learned that Morcubus plans on entering the race himself. If he wins there will be nothing to stop him from taking over our town."

Player: "Why are you telling me this?"

Mayor Rosalyn: "I'll let an old friend explain..."

Player: "Ol Gabby? I don't understand -- who is that with you?"

Ol Gabby: "[player name], allow me to introduce you to one of your biggest fans out there..."

Ol Gabby: "-- this is 'Ace'."

Player: "Sir Charles?!"

Sir Charles: "Hello, [player name]. It's an honor to finally meet you in person."

Player: "But -- but I thought you were dead!"

Sir Charles: "Well, if Morcubus had had his way, I would be. It all goes back to that fateful balloon trip, ten years ago."

Sir Charles: "As soon as I lost sight of land, my old nemesis came straight for me in his antique war plane."

Sir Charles: "He cut down the balloon's tethers and sent me plummeting towards the ocean."

Sir Charles: "I came back to my senses on the shore of a strange island. My knees ached so badly I could barely walk, and I had no idea who I was."

Sir Charles: "The island's inhabitants took me in as one of their own and nursed me back to health. I lived among them for years."

Sir Charles: "Then one day, after a coconut-related mishap, it all came back to me. The balloon trip, Morcubus, everything. Even the bet we had made before I left."

Sir Charles: "I knew I had to come back and save Speedville from the clutches of MorcuCorp -- I just wasn't sure how."

Player: "But now you can race against Morcubus, right?"

Sir Charles: "Unfortunately, my ordeal left me with two bad knees, and I can no longer race, at least not at Morcubus' level -- That is why my return was kept a secret."

Player: "So what do we do?"

Sir Charles: "[player name], YOU must race in my name. Morcubus is too confident in his skills. He is almost sure to underestimate you."

Ol Gabby: "That varmint is sure to jump at the chance to race you in the Ultimate Cup. We'll catch him in the same trap he set for Ace way back when!"

Ol Gabby: "All you need to do is win the Ultimate Cup, defeat Morcubus and save all of Speedville. Easy, right?!"

Star Level 5

No one new comes at Star Level 5. Speedville and the regions around it are saved, and MorcuCorp has been defeated. Sir Charles, however, still has one more challenge for the player. He wants the player to race him, one-on-one. After accomplishing this task, the player will have won the game. Challenges can still be redone, however, and the player can try to earn gold medals in every challenge, become best friends with everyone, and get all hidden blue-prints to beat the game, 100%.

And so, the cup was won and the city was saved. Every Sim, young or old, boy or girl, took to the streets to celebrate.

After revealing to everyone that he was back, Sir Charles saw to it that Morcubus and his cronies would honor the bet and stay away.

Speedville's reputation as a racing center only grew, with racers and fans alike flocking to the bustling town.

As for [player name], she/he was celebrated as a local hero and quickly became a world-renowned racing champ.

But that night, as the celebration continued, Sir Charles had one last request of [player name].

Sir Charles: "Well, Ol' Gabby was right to trust in you, [player name]. You succeeded beyond our wildest expectations."

Sir Charles: "You have made my dream come true, and I am forever in your debt. Still, there's one more thing I'd like from you."

Player: "What's that, Sir Charles?"

Sir Charles: "First, please call me Ace. Second, I'd like to race you. No audience, no cup, no reward but the sheer trill of racing."

Sir Charles: "I may be past my prime, but I think I've got one more in me. Whaddya say?"

Player: "Of course, Ace. It'll be an honor to race 'The Legend.'"
