Player is the main character in the MySims series. They are generally depicted as always friendly and eager to help others, usually helping to repair a place that has become broken down, with the Sims not being as happy as they used to be. But of course, Player will do something to make the residents happy again. Player will be able to make many friends along the way, and is customizable in many ways!

Usually, the Player character has no set name, being blank until Player inputs a name of their choosing. MySims (Mobile) is an exception to this, using the name Cris as a default name, although this can still be changed.

List of Player Roles[]

MySims (Console/PC)[]

Main article: Essence User
Essence Creator

The Essence Master.

In the first game of the MySims series, there is a run-down town that had fallen apart after a man, who had the power to use Essences to help out the citizens of the town, left. Residents left with him, and soon, the town fell into disrepair. One day, Mayor Rosalyn P. Marshall had been notified that a person with powers similar to the original Essence User was coming to town to help out: Player. Player helps the town grow by moving in new residents and businesses, building furniture for the Sims, and making them happier. Player will meet many Sims with a variety of Interests and personalities. As everyone gets happier, the town's Star Level will increase too. Player can become best friends with the Sims, and make some enemies, should they choose to. Player can even decide to move any Sim they want into town and even kick them out.

Movement[]

Player can move around in the world by using the assigned buttons to move. In MySims (Wii), the joystick on the nunchuck control the Sim, while in MySims (PC), the controls are W A S D.

Outdoors[]

Player runs outdoors but will sometimes automatically when selecting an action, or manually by lightly pushing the joycon. If Player keeps running for a long time, they will build up speed after about 10 seconds and run twice as fast. This is very useful for overcoming longer distances.

Indoors[]

While indoors, Player is only able to walk at a moderate pace. They are also not able to build up speed.
Player can also walk up edges 1 (?) block tall and climb to a height of 10 blocks at most; the game prohibits everything above.

Size[]

Player Size in MySims

The hitbox of a typical Sim is 21 blocks tall and has a diameter (⌀) of 6 blocks.

Every Sim (including Player) has a hitbox with a fixed size. This way, they can bump into other objects and interact with the world.
Sims have a cylindrical hitbox with a diameter (⌀) of 6 blocks and a height of 21 blocks.

MySims (DS)[]

MySims on DS is a loose port of the console version, however unlike the PC version it takes several liberties. For one, instead of a run-down town, Player moves to an island, the mayor of which is not Rosalyn, but instead her elderly mother, Helen, who lives on the island with her grandson Tim (Rosalyn's first cousin once-removed). The only other residents on the island when Player moves in are Ewan, a police officer, and Tyler, a tailor. There is also Nicki, the captain of the ferry that brings Player to the island, although despite technically meeting her first she is not actually considered a resident until later. None of the characters from the Wii/PC versions appear in the DS version and vice versa, meaning both games have entirely different casts of characters, although there are occasional references made to characters from each game.

Overall, the DS version is much more of a social simulator with more emphasis placed on interacting with the various residents and much less emphasis on customizability, unlike the Wii version. There is also no way to build new buildings or decorate them. Additionally instead of there being empty lots, all potential buildings already exist on the island when Player arrives and are simply vacant. Player is still able to buy furniture to decorate the inside of their house with (the outside can't be changed at all), but all furniture now has a small handful of color options and Essences are entirely removed as a mechanic. To make up for this there are several minigames, including a 'conversation' minigame that can raise or lower Player's relationship with the various island residents, often requiring Player to cheer them when they're sad or calm them down from being angry.

MySims (Mobile)[]

MySims on mobile generally has a similar plot to the DS version, along with a similar cast of characters, but is overall much poorer quality and has been heavily simplified due to the hardware being even more limited than the DS's. As a direct result of its less powerful hardware, it is the only game in the series to be entirely 2D pixel art instead of using 3D models. Also, for some reason, there are numerous inconsistencies with every other game, such as Nicki's name being spelled "Nikki" and Martin being blonde despite being a redhead in all other appearances, among many other small things. In total, Player is able to create up to 24 characters on one device.

If "Start Game" is selected on the main menu, Player's appearance and gender will be completely randomized and, for the first (and only) time in the series, given a default name, Cris, regardless of gender. Player will then see Cris riding Nicki's ferry to the island like in the DS version. If the option "New/Edit" is chosen instead, Player will be brought to a character creation screen, at the end of which they will get to name them, with no default name inputted. Player will then be able to continue the game with their newly created character, or make more. New/Edit can also be used to change any character's gender, name, and appearance at any time, even if Player initially started the game as the randomized Cris. Something odd about this is that "Cris" and other island residents' names are spelt with correct capitalization, but the name input in the character creator only allows Player to use capital letters, so any Player character who is edited will end up having their name in all caps, unless they stick with the default Cris name (which would require not editing your character at all, as the game forces you to rename your character after you've finished customizing their appearance).

It should be noted that the Mobile version is incredibly old and no longer available for purchase, as it will only work on old phones that can play J2ME games.

MySims Kingdom (Console)[]

Main article: Royal Wandolier
Wand

The Wandolier's scepter.

Player starts as a pig farmer, working for the cranky Elmira Clamp. Buddy arrives and shows fliers for the Royal Wandolier Trials. Buddy drops the fliers and Player is forced to pick them up. Afterwards, Player joins the trials with a training scepter to become a Royal Wandolier, and then starts the real adventure, traveling across different islands throughout the kingdom, helping out residents through multiple tasks. Doing so will rack up King Points, which award Player with new furniture, decoratives, paint colors, wallpaper, flooring, and construction materials to build and furnish homes. Unlike MySims, Player’s gender can be chosen when starting the game instead of picking from a variety of clothes thrown together for both males and females and depending on appearances to determine a Sim's gender.

MySims Party (Wii)[]

Festival

Players compete in festivals in MySims Party.

Player does not play a specific role, unlike previous games, and multiple Sims can be created that can compete in festivals, just like the pre-made Sims in the game. After racking enough winning points in festivals, more will be available to compete in, and the town will improve. Higher scores in certain minigames will result in more residents moving in, and some will be eligible to be chosen as teammates. Monuments and statues will also be won from each festival as an accomplishment, which can be displayed around town.

MySims Racing (Wii)[]

Sir Charles In Car

Player has to race to make Speedville catch up for Sir Charles.

Player starts the game as a beginner racer, who's hoping to someday be a great racer. Ol' Gabby helps Player out, teaching some of the basics of driving. Gabby is impressed with Player’s driving skills, and upon finishing his challenges, he asks Player to do challenges for the other Sims. Player helps out the other residents by doing various "challenges", which range from trying to beat the clock to obstacle races. Gabby also tells Player about Sir Charles who built Speedville, loved racing, and was an expert before he disappeared 10 years ago, which caused the town to fall apart. After Star Level 1, other town residents start noticing Player’s racing efforts and cheer them on to make Speedville as bustling as it had been before. Meanwhile, Player tries to stop Morcubus, who's trying to take over Speedville and use it for his own purposes.

MySims Agents Thingy

Player must save the city before it's too late.

Player is a special agent, taking on a special case. There's an evil plot brewing in the city, which Player is investigating. Player will solve mysteries and try to foil Morcubus' wicked plans. Player’s mission involves solving puzzles, hacking computers, picking locks, tackling dangerous feats, uncovering clues, and exploring exotic places to crack the case.

The goal in the game is centered around the Crown of Nightmares, an item of unimaginable power, that Morcubus hopes to wield so he can take over the world. The crown is shattered into many pieces, and these pieces are scattered throughout the MySims world. Selena and Derek finding Player.

In MySims SkyHeroes, Player is a pilot, who crash-lands on an island and suffers amnesia. Selena and Derek from SkyForce find Player and take them to Mission Control. After suffering a coma for a few days, Player finally awakes, and meets Justice, the general of SkyForce. Player explains to him that the only things they can remember is their name and that they were a pilot. Most of the members of Skyforce, with the exception of Derek, accept Player instantly, becoming amazed when they witness their incredible skills, which leave even Justice himself impressed. Pretty soon, Player is invited to join the team as an honorary member, an offer they accept.

After a victory in which Player helps destroy a MorcuCorp satellite dish, Player comes up with the idea to gather all the resistance squadrons under Skyforce and take down Morcubus once and for all. Later in the storyline, Player has a nightmare, where Morcubus orders Player to track down the SkyForce base, which they accept. With the aid of Raphael and Rose, Player attacks Summer and attempts to tail her back to the base, only to be shot down by Justice. Player questions him about this and quickly realizes they were of the Chaos Pirates, more specifically the lackey of the group, who has taken that chance to prove themself to Morcubus. Derek demands that Player be imprisoned, but Justice denies it, as Player has come to terms with the truth about who their allegiance really should be with.

When every pilot has been recruited, Player volunteers to act as a double agent, tricking Rose and Raphael into believing they’ve come back to the Chaos Pirates as they free them and journey to meet Morcubus. To allow Player to 'redeem' themself, Morcubus has them steal a shield generator from Dr. F, unaware Player sent a message to him asking to make a modification. Once Player gets the shield generator, they meet Morcubus at his flying fortress, and he reveals the main reason he's controlling flight is to have the "Morcubus Day Parade". When Morcubus and the other Chaos Pirates get distracted, Player makes their escape with Svetlana, Dragomir, and Rose on their tail. Player gets away, and the Chaos Pirates decide to let them go.

After returning to SkyForce base, Derek apologizes for not trusting Player, and everyone prepares to take on Morcubus. It is revealed that the modification to the shield generator was that it was fitted with an energy reciprocator that when activated by a remote control, would send a violent burst of excess energy through the shield generator, knocking out all of the rest of the MorcuFortress' main systems, including engines and weapons, leaving it practically helpless. Player turns the shield off, and battles the Chaos Pirates, alongside the leaders of all the factions Player recruited. The skies are saved, Morcubus and the Chaos Pirates are locked up, and Player celebrates with SkyForce.
