Gameplay

Festivals

The player lives in a town (named by you) and participates in festivals so they can unlock more residents and houses in the town. MC Emi and her partner Mitch are the organizers of the festivals. Festivals are collections of minigames ran by certain hosts. The minigames are themed to fit the theme of a festival, like how the Music Festival has minigames related to music. At the end of each minigame, a handful of points are handed to each competitor, with the winner having the most points given and the runner-ups given some points for effort. At the end of the festival, the competitor who has gathered the most points throughout the festival wins. Monuments and statues are won upon reaching a certain amount of points, and can be placed around town. The player can also unlocks decorations for the exterior of their house and a few outfit, accessories, or hairstyles in Create-A-Sim along the way.

The very first festival, the Opening Festival, is hosted by Buddy and has 3 minigames. This festival must be played in order to unlock the Happy Festival, hosted by Poppy. Each festival has a name and the host usually has something to do with the theme of the festival, like how Dr. F hosts the Bizarre Festival and DJ Candy Supergroove hosts the Music Festival. There are a total of 12 festivals in the game.

When participating in festivals, players can form teams. Festivals unlocked in the beginning usually only allow 2 team members, but as the player experiences more festivals later in the game, there areas many as 3 to 4 Sims in a team. One team member will be selected to participate in the minigame.

Minigames

MySims Party has 50 minigames. There is a system with 4 basic stats: Power, Speed, Stamina, and Luck. Each minigame includes vital stats that can benefit a player if they have a lot of it. For example, having a lot of Speed in a minigame that requires it will give a player an advantage over players with lower Speed. After the minigame is over, the stats used will usually go down afterwards, so it is recommended to switch between team members instead of using one Sim the whole time. However, if a player already had only one bar for a stat used, it will not be lowered further. Players can also get lucky if they can increase stats during the Surprise Event.

Town

The town is home to all the festivals. When not participating in a festival, the player can the explore town, but there is not a whole lot to do. The player's appearance and house exterior can be changed. Monuments can be obtained from winning festivals, which can be placed around town, and the player talk to residents, who may give a tip or two about the minigame they host. The player can also talk to MC Emi at the Festival Site to enter festivals.

MySims Party has 51 of the original characters from MySims. Although the other Sims are not in the game, multiple custom Sims can be made, and the default sims can even have their names and appearances changed. The original Sims from MySims that did not make it to MySims Party can even be made as custom Sims.. The only new characters to the game are MC Emi and Mitch.

Each and every Sim, except MC Emi, hosts a minigame, and 12 different Sims host each festival. Sims can be unlocked as playable characters if the player reaches at least 80 points in their minigame. Sims will also move in to town if the player reaches at least 60 points in their minigame. However, not all Sims require 80 points to unlock them as a new playable character. Exceptions include Sasha and Stephen, who require the player to win their respective games twice, as well as Ginny, Odin, and Chaz, who only require 70 points.
