MySims Kingdom is the second entry in the MySims series. The game focuses on the player working as a pig farmer and becoming a Royal Wandolier, fulfinning residents' requests and making everyone in the kingdom happy. MySims Kingdom was released on Wii in 2008, and was re-released for the Nintendo Switch as part of MySims: Cozy Bundle in 2024. A PC port of MySims: Cozy Bundle will be released on March 16, 2025, bringing MySims Kingdom to PC for the first time in the series.
The Royal Wandolier
MySims Kingdom begins as King Roland holds a contest to name a new Royal Wandolier. A Wandolier is a glorified construction worker, but garners its name from the magical scepter (or wand) given to perform their duties. Everything is done with a wave of the magic scepter. After winning the contest and a short tutorial, the new Wandolier is free to explore the kingdom and help those in need.
New features
MySims Kingdom has new features to its predecessor MySims, such as fewer loading screens, and interactive cutscenes between most transitions. The frame has been improved for smoother animation. Item creation has been dropped and decorating a Sim's Home is done with pre-fabricated items obtained by finishing quests to find several specific essences and trade them for scrolls, which gives the Royal Wandolier the ability to make new items.
Essences are not needed to build or paint, but can instead use Mana, which can be obtained by performing certain activities, such as mining. The game also includes a new building interface and a storyline unlike the first MySims.
The essence of construction
Like MySims (Console/PC), MySims Kingdom utilizes Essences as the building blocks of the world. Items are built by using scrolls, which act as recipe cards for the various items. A scroll will list the essences and the amount needed to complete it. Essences can be collected by shaking trees, prospecting, mining, or by socializing with other Sims. Once you have collected the required essences, you can go into build mode and build your own version of the item using a blue print and a variety of geometric shapes and decorations.
