Morcubus is a villainous Sim and self-proclaimed "prince of monsters". He is bent on possessing the knowledge of all evil. While he is typically the main antagonist in the MySims series, Morcubus also serves as a typical resident, a transportation advisor[1], a wizard, and a minigame host.
Game roles[]
Appearance[]
MySims and SimCity Creator[]
Morcubus has tan skin, wild red hair with downward spikes and a receding hairline like Dr. F, almond shaped brown eyes wth squiggly eyebrows like Master Aran, and a neutral mouth with a brown mustache and goatee. He wears a red suit with a black spiderweb on the lower left side of the jacket, white gloves, a black undershirt, and black shoes.
MySims Kingdom[]
Morcubus looks very different than he does in MySims. His skin is now light. He has black hair with upward spikes, a smile with a black mustache and goatee, and heavy-lidded eyes (similar to Goth Boy) with purple under eyeshadow and thick eyebrows. He retains these features in all games following MySims Kingdom. He wears a long red coat, puffy red-striped pants, white gloves, and black boots.
MySims Party and MySims Racing[]
Morcubus has the same facial featuers as he does in MySims Kingdom but with the suit he wears in MySims.
MySims Agents[]
Morcubus wears another red suit similar to the other ones with the long coat, a similar spiderweb design on the front, red striped pants (not puffy), black gloves, and red & white shoes.
MySims SkyHeroes[]
Rather than one of his usual red suits, Morcubus wears a long, gray coat with a red pattern, a gray undershirt, gray pants with a red stripe on each side, gray gloves with yellow, and gray boots with a small white & red logo.
In other games[]
- In The Sims 3: Late Night, there is a drink the player can order at a bar called the "Morcubus Molotov".
- In The Sims 3: Generations, a picture of Morcubus and/or Zombie Carl may appear over a Sim's head while telling a ghost story.
- Morcubus appears in The Sims 4 as an uncommon MySims trophy that can be collected by players. His description reads: "Beyond time and space is a world of black fire. From the heart of this maelstrom of horrors was born the infernal Morcubus! As president and CEO of MorcuCorp he advances his dark designs, and he also leads team-building workshops."
- Morcubus' trophy appears again in The Sims Mobile as an heirloom charm.
- Lyndsay Pearson, VP of Franchise Creative for The Sims, created a version of Morcubus in The Sims 4. He can be downloaded from her page SimGuruLyndsay on the Gallery.
- Pearson's version of Morcubus is named "Alistair Morcubus", which is inconsistent with his name in the MySims series. In MySims Kingdom, Morcubus reveals that his first name was supposed to be named Marcus, but due to his parents' bad handwriting, his birth certificate said "Morcubus." He mentions this after the Royal Wandolier completes the task "The Meaning of Morcubus".[2]
- There is a TV show on the BEtween channel called "Void Battles" (in Simlish) in the Kids Room Stuff DLC on The Sims 4, which features Morcubus, Evelyn Gray, and Chaz McFreely as the main characters.
- There is even a poster for the same TV show with them on it as well.
Trivia[]
- Morcubus is voiced by Roger Jackson.
- Morcubus is one of ten Sims to appear in every MySims Wii game along with Chaz McFreely, DJ Candy Supergroove, Dr. F, Goth Boy, Roxie Road, Summer, Travis, and Violet Nightshade.
- Morcubus is the only Sim in MySims to give a toilet blueprint as a best friend reward, and to have a different appearance in MySims Party.
- Morcubus does not mention Brandi in his MySims dialogue when talking about his "spooky disciples" (which are the other Spooky Townie Sims). This is strange because Brandi is a MorcuCorp associate in MySims Racing and MySims Agents.
- Morcubus' name may be a reference to the Marvel character, Michael Morbius.
- Morcubus is known to be very narcissistic, due to the fact he names every thing with the prefix "Morcu".
- It is revealed in MySims Racing that he has an antique warplane he used to shoot Sir Charles down.
- As seen in a MySims Agents screenshot, Morcubus was originally a potential SPA recruit.
- In MySims Agents, there is a picture of Morcubus in the lockers in Yuki's submarine dock and inside the gym locker HQ object.
- In MySims Racing (Wii), Goth Boy is a MoruCorp employee; in MySims Racing (DS), though, Morcubus seems to have no prior knowledge (aside from rumors) of Goth Boy before the latter goes with the player to his castle.
- After completing the story for Spookane, Morcubus never enters his castle.
- In MySims SkyHeroes, Morcubus says the only reason he wants to take over the skies is to make room for several large balloons of himself for the Morcubus Day Parade (which strangely lasts many months).
- The Morcubus Day Parade may be a reference to the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
- Morcubus' French name, Sinistrus, comes from the word "sinister".
