The player travels to the Jungle Temple, after finding a map in a sunken ship, with Buddy and Evelyn, in hopes of finding the Crown of Nightmares. Lyndsay, a feisty explorer and tour guide, greets the group to begin the search of clues. You learn that you must find four things and activate the four pedestals to enter the temple. After examining all four pedestals, the player explores a large tree called the Gaia Tree and meets Magellan, a lemur who activates the Earth Pedestal. The player also explores a sun shrine to find a magic torch for the Fire Pedestal, and an ornate cup for the Water Pedestal, as well as a golden idol to give Sir Vincent Skullfinder to gain access to the moon shrine. The moon shrine has a trunk with a horn inside, needed for the Wind Pedestal. With Magellan on the Earth Pedestal wearing a necklace, Evelyn on the Fire Pedestal with the torch, Lyndsay on the Water Pedestal with the ornate cup filled with mystic water, and Buddy on the Wind Pedestal with the horn, the temple staircase rises. The player enters the temple and meets King Mike, a crazy man stuck in the temple, who leads the player through three rooms with various puzzles, eventually leading to the key to a secret in the temple. King Mike leads the player back to the Temple Grotto after giving him 2 coconuts, which he names Reynaldo and Eloise. He gives the player the key to the Nightmare Crown and reveals the crown itself was in the grotto the whole time. After getting the Nightmare Crown, the player tells Buddy they should let Evelyn know, and King Mike experiences déjà vu after hearing her name. Evelyn centers the grotto and King Mike recognizes her. He turns out to be Dr. Michael Gray, Evelyn's father and lead researcher of the crown's project. Everyone leaves the Temple Grotto, except Lyndsay, who wants to continue exploring the temple. When the group leaves the grotto, they finds Morcubus, Esma, and Brandi there waiting, who reveal they have been following the player, Buddy, and Evelyn the whole time and put a tracking device in Michael's journal. Morcubus has Esma take the crown and activates its powers, opening a large portal, but Evelyn tackles him to the ground, sending the two of them into the Nightmare Realm, trapping them both. Brandi and Esma retreat, Michael laments not destroying the crown, and the player vows to help all the remaining clients for the Sim Protection Agency to look for a way to help Evelyn. The player and Buddy head back to Headquarters as the end credits play out.

Trivia[]

  • Like the Chalet and the Boudreaux Mansion, the Jungle Temple cannot be revisited after the story is completed.
    • Additionally, the Temple Jungle, Gaia Tree, and Moon & Sun Shrines can no longer be accessed after activating all 4 pedestals, with the exception of the group going back to the Temple Jungle in the final cutscene.
  • Some coconuts in the water room have bat wings.
  • The Jungle Temple might be in Madagascar, because it is the only place where lemurs are found.
  • The Moon and Sun Shrines are very similar to the Pyramids of the Moon and the Sun made by the ancient Mexican Olmec people.
  • The Gaia Tree likely got its name because Gaia means earth, and Magellan, who is on the top, holds the key to the Earth Pedestal.
  • The top of the Gaia Tree uses the same soundtrack for the Unicorn Statue on Forest of the Elves in MySims Kingdom.
  • The skulls found around the location are probably remains of the indigenous people.
  • In the game, Sims rearrange the words Jungle Temple and say "Temple Jungle".
