Buddy is one lovable guy, and a clumsy klutz too. Throughout the MySims series, he serves as a bellhop at the Town Hotel, a utilities advisor[1], a minigame/festival host, King Roland's royal messenger, the Special Agent's sketch artist, and a pilot. Buddy only has a minor role in MySims, but he serves as the player's sidekick in MySims Kingdom and MySims Agents.

Game roles[]

Appearance[]

Buddy has pale skin, short blonde hair that's combed to the side, and a big toothy smile. His eyes are small black dots with a wide space between them. The whites of his eyes are only visible when he's shocked. His eyebrows are small and black with no curvature. He also has blush underneath his eyes. In MySims and MySims Party (Wii), he has freckles.

MySims, SimCity Creator, MySims Party, MySims Racing[]

Buddy wears a red hat with a black rim and a golden Plumbob emblem and a red collarless button down shirt with long sleeves, six golden buttons, a golden bow tie, and other gold accents. He also wears black dress pants and black shoes with gold accents. He has a keychain attached to his hip.

Alternate outfit[]

If a player has Buddy on their team while playing Bell Hopscotch, the host Buddy will wear an alternate outfit to differentiate the two Buddies from each other. His alternate outfit is exactly the same, but in blue instead of red.

MySims Agents[]

At the start of the game, Buddy wears a backwards red ball cap, a red tee shirt with a yellow comic shape, a white long sleeve shirt underneath, blue jeans, and red sneakers with white soles, yellow laces, and yellow accents. He also carries a green satchel on his shoulder and a pencil behind his ear.

Once the player unlocks the Headquarters, Buddy undergoes a special agent makeover. He then wears black shades, a striped white button down shirt, a red tie, a black vest with a silver badge, black slacks, a black belt, and black shoes. This marks the first time in the series that he doesn't wear a hat.

Buddy as a Simmi in The Sims 4: Snow Escape.

  • Buddy appears in MySims Puzzle Party.
  • One of the soundtracks for Buddy's hotel plays in The Sims 3 when Sims go to the grocery store.[2]
  • A Sim named Buddy appears in The Sims Social. He has a pale skin, a smile, a red shirt, and a sunny disposition like the MySims Buddy. He also has brown hair, like Buddy did in pre-release images. It is possible they are meant to be the same Sim.
  • Buddy appears in The Sims 4 as a common MySims trophy that can be collected by players. His description reads: "There is no better sidekick than your ol' pal, Buddy. Supportive, optimistic, and fiercely loyal, he'll stick by your side through any adventure. Last seen moonlighting as a special agent."
    • Strangely, the description states his last appearance was as an agent, ignoring his actual last appearance in MySims SkyHeroes.
    • Buddy's trophy appears again in The Sims Mobile as an heirloom charm.
  • There is a decoration item in The Sims 4: Get to Work called "Benny Bones", which is obviously Buddy with a different name.
  • Buddy appears in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape as one of the "Simmi" collectables.

Trivia[]

  • Buddy goes on about being hungry and has an obsession with food. However, his primary interests are Geeky in MySims and Fun in MySims Kingdom, rather than Tasty or Food. Although, Tasty is his secondary interest in MySims.
    • Interestingly, Fun is his interest in MySims Kingdom, but he has no connection to it in MySims. He also has no connection to Tech or Food in MySims Kingdom, which are equivalent to Geeky and Tasty.
    • The Tasty icon appears in Buddy's thought bubble during the flashback in the final cutscene at the Boudreaux Mansion.
  • Buddy says he is allergic to crab and sunflowers in MySims Kingdom, and pudding in MySims Agents.
  • In MySims Kingdom, while on the way to Trevor Island, Buddy tells Lyndsay he had a clarinet as a kid that he never played, and he called it "Trevor".
  • In MySims Kingdom, Buddy thinks mean and crazy Sims are nice, like Princess Butter and Yuki. However, when Lyndsay tells him he thinks everyone is nice, he says "I think you're mean sometimes."
  • In MySims Kingdom, when Rosalyn asks the player to put her podium back, Buddy says something about making her a podium sounding strangely familiar. A reference to the player's first task in MySims.
  • In MySims Kingdom, if the player talks to Buddy before talking to Elmira Clamp after her first task, he'll ask why a cat won't be nice to him.
  • In MySims Kingdom during the credits, Buddy is dancing with both Capital Island and Candypalooza.
  • Buddy is wearing his royal messenger outfit from MySims Kingdom in the trailers for MySims Party and MySims Racing, whereas in both games, he wears his bellhop uniform.

  • In MySims Agents, Buddy reveals at the Boudreaux Mansion that he was raised on a farm.
  • In MySims Agents, when asked to play the horn on the Wind Pedestal at the Jungle Temple, Buddy reveals he played the horn in a marching band where he learned to salute.
  • In MySims Agents, after Buddy meets Evelyn Gray and Lyndsay, he tells the player he used to have two hamsters named Evelyn and Lyndsay.
